Anxiety

Anxiety can appear in many ways, affecting both mental and physical well-being. Individuals may experience heightened levels of worry, fear, or unease, often leading to difficulty concentrating and disrupted daily activities. Physically, anxiety may trigger symptoms such as increased heart rate, muscle tension, and fatigue. Over time, chronic anxiety can contribute to sleep disturbances, irritability, and a sense of overwhelm, ultimately impacting an individual’s quality of life and emotional health.

Using Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy we can unlock some of the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that bind us into cycles of unhelpful thinking and doing, leading to more understanding and control of your life.

Phobias

It’s natural to have fears and some anxiety, but when it negatively affects your life and what you do, it is time to do something about it.

Our automatic “fight or flight response” is a good thing that evolved to help us all survive. But, like so many good things you can sometimes have too much.

For some people, a natural concern about meeting new people turns into avoiding socialising.

For others, the thought of speaking in front of others, makes them freeze with fear.

Yet more people panic even at the thought of a spider being in the same room.

You may be affected by a fear of needles or heights, and in most cases, what is happening in the body is the same.

It usually just takes a bit of ‘rewiring’ of our body’s automatic responses which allows us to ‘short circuit’ the panic reactions that have become a problem. When that happens, people describe it as finding a new kind of freedom to face situations they had become used to avoiding.
